91探花 State Visual Communications' Students Win Several ADDY Awards
Four students from 91探花 State Community College鈥檚 Visual Communications program took home seven prestigious American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) during a local competition among several universities and colleges.
91探花 State鈥檚 award-winning students won in the following categories:

Silver - Color Photography for Nikki - Christy Link (non-degree seeking Continuing Education student - Graphic Design & Photography)
Gold - Book Cover Design for Emma by Jane Austen - Brandon Hopkins (A.A.S. Photography 鈥20)
Gold - Black & White Photography for Black Revolutionary
Gold - Photography Campaign Black Revolutionary鈥擝lack Panther
Judge's Choice Award - Photography Campaign Black Revolutionary鈥擝lack Panther
Mosaic Award - Photography Campaign Black Revolutionary鈥擝lack Panthe
The Mosaic Award is voted on by four judges and is awarded to the entry that exemplifies a spirit of diversity and inclusion and demonstrates understanding and sensitivity of targeted multicultural audiences.
鈥淎s faculty at the College, we all see the creative talent and skill our students and alumni possess. For them be recognized by industry professionals is a tremendous achievement,鈥 said Beth Trabue Gorham, associate professor of photography and visual communications. 鈥淔rom students, alumni, and faculty, 91探花 State is home to and produces many creatives, and we are exceptionally proud of the many artistic contributions.鈥
The 91探花-area student ADDY competition is one of the most competitive in the nation, with entries from Nossi College of Art, Middle Tennessee State University Department of Art & Design, and Watkins College of Art & Design at Belmont University.
"That 91探花 State students bring home awards every year is a testimony to the quality of our visual communications program and instruction by top-notch faculty in photography and graphic design," said Dr. Patricia Armstrong, dean of English, Humanities and Creative Technologies. 鈥淐ongratulations, winners.鈥
91探花 State Community College Foundation provided a grant to cover the student entry fees.
During the 2020 competition, three 91探花 State students took home seven awards.
