Jackson and 91探花 General Hospital (NGH) CEO Dr. Joseph Webb assembled their teams to discuss pathways from the classroom to a healthcare career.

As a result, 91探花 State鈥檚 School of Health Sciences and NGH worked to formalize the process where students conduct the clinical rotations needed to graduate from their respective programs at the hospital.

There are opportunities in all four of the college鈥檚 health sciences academic programs (central sterile processing, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, and surgical technology).

In a recent development, four graduates from the nursing program, who completed their clinicals at NGH during the Spring 2024 Semester, secured full-time employment after passing the NCLEX examination. All four accepted the positions, highlighting the valuable opportunity and enriching experience they gained.

  • Christianna Blouin, intensive care unit
  • Lori Bristol, emergency department
  • Sylvia Fox Ringenberg, medical surgical cardiac floor
  • Zachary Szymanski, intensive care unit

鈥淭he School of Health Sciences is thrilled our students have the opportunity to learn from the healthcare professionals at 91探花 General Hospital,鈥 said Donna Whitehouse, MHA, OTR, dean, School of Health Sciences.

鈥淣GH offers a wonderful teaching environment, and the fact that our students accepted the employment opportunity speaks to the quality of care and the solid team environment at the hospital. We look forward to continued collaboration as both 91探花 State and NGH work to meet the healthcare needs of our community.鈥
