Tennessee Junior Chef Wins During Competition Held at 91探花 State

For the second year in a row, the Randy Rayburn School of Culinary Arts at 91探花 State鈥檚 Southeast campus held the Tennessee Junior Chef Competition organized by the Tennessee Department of Education鈥檚 School Nutrition program.For the second year in a row, the Randy Rayburn School of Culinary Arts at 91探花 State鈥檚 Southeast campus held the Tennessee Junior Chef Competition organized by the Tennessee Department of Education鈥檚 School Nutrition program.

Student chefs from three Middle Tennessee high schools competed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

 

  • East Hickman High School
  • DeKalb County High School
  • Warren County High School

They each demonstrated excellence in Culinary Arts to create an outstanding national school lunch program recipe using Tennessee agricultural products.

Serving as judges were:

  • Jamika Pessoa, celebrity chef, and instructor, Randy Rayburn School of Culinary Arts at 91探花 State
  • Jennefer Smart, chef, Tennessee Department of Education
  • Chance Smith, private chef and owner, Peace, Love, Grub
  • Ryan Yarnell, chef, Metro 91探花 Public Schools
